Track of the Week 6/8/2017 - Carla's Dreams, "Pana La Sange"

Picking a track of the week is difficult - much more difficult than expected. If you listen to just an hour of music a day, the number of tracks you'll get through in a week is huge - and the number is ever greater for those of us who listen to 3+ hours per day! In the end, though, there's always a few tracks, or maybe an album, which you'll keep coming back to time after time. For me, this week, there were a few clear candidates - something from Evolve (the latest Imagine Dragons album), perhaps? In another week, that option might have taken the prize - when my review of Evolve goes live it'll be clear how taken I am with the record. All that said, there was one track that just managed to cut through, and it was "Pana La Sange", by Romanian group Carla's Dreams.

Oddly enough, this track is reasonably likely to appeal to other Dragons fans, will the visceral, full-on sound not sounding out-of-place in playlists laden with heavy rock or electronic music. "Pana La Sange" takes the title this week for being an emotionally-dominating track, a piece by which one can't help but be moved. Whatever it makes you feel, one thing is certain - you will feel it strongly.
